They Make Everything Big in Texas

I love Austin. I'm not really sure why. I live in Los Angeles for many reasons, but one of the biggest is the constant sense of the presence of the ocean which relieves my fear of claustrophobia. So why I am attracted to living in Austin, I don't really know, but I am. There's certainly no ocean.

Last night's gig at a sold-out Parish on 6th Street was the usual Austin madness. Jeff Klein is a local hero here so it was particularly nice to see him play in front of his followers.

Thanks for all your emails concerning where I can find cowboy shirts, trust me, I visited all the stores yet came away empty handed. I don't do well with flair on my clothing, so I had to pass. However the rest of my band bought a ton of stuff, so it was not in vain.

After the show we ended up at someone's house and played guitar and sang till about 6 in the morning. I had a great time, it felt like I was at summer camp when I was a kid. The walk back to the bus as the sun rose reminded me of being strung out on dope though, the birds chirping, the bum's leeching, etc. Memories...

We are in Dallas right now, Jeff Klein is onstage and Greg just played drums on Kiss and Tell. Did you know Greg played drums? Well, now you do. Last time we played here we had a great time, tonight promises to be no different.

Peace,

Scott
